So I was reading this book, which apparently is about Navy SEAL skills. Foreword by Bear Grylls and such.

I turn to the section about operational vehicle prep, it lists as one of the tips, “overinflating tires for optimal perfomance”. Next page offers an image which says “overinflate tires five to ten psi over max”.

So now I just sit wondering, who the hell wrote this book? Allegedly a retired Navy SEAL. Oddly, in the next chapter it says you should replace the tires with high-performance ones and to inflate them to the recommended pressure.

This is the kind of book that would tell you to remove your airbags since they’ll just distract you in a crash and replace them with secret compartments for handguns.

If the foreword’s from Bear Grylls, you’re lucky the book hasn’t suggested drinking your own pee.

The recommendation might be in expectation of overloading, but IDK. YMMV. Literally.

I just read that very book. It was quite entertaining and there was some cool though most likely very useless stuff that I learned. Nobody at work would volunteer to test the improvised taser for me.
